Lou Reed tribute show to feature members of TV on the Radio, Light Asylum and more

A week of Brooklyn tributes to Lou Reed will conclude with a big one.

On Sunday, November 24, Bowery Electric will host a Lou Reed tribute, featuring No Wave godfather Arto Lindsay, Patti Smith Band guitarist Lenny Kaye, TV on the Radio’s Kyp Malone and Tunde Adebimpe, Reed/Laurie Anderson collaborator Shahzad Ismaily, Light Asylum vocalist Shannon Funchess, and more. Additionally, Queens band Hollis Brown will perform Velvet Underground’s Loaded in its entirety. [via Brooklyn Vegan]

The tributes to the fallen musician continue to trickle in, nearly a month after his death at 71. Patti Smith, Laurie Anderson, and Morrissey, among many others, have paid tribute to the singular artist.
