Watch the trailer for Lana Del Rey's short film Tropico set to premiere in December

LDR reveals trailer for forthcoming mini-movie.

Lana Del Rey will finally unveil her short film Tropico next month, and the one-minute trailer suggests a Lynchian (but of course) journey into the underbelly of Los Angeles, with guns and strippers galore.

The Rick Rubin-produced film is soundtracked by music from Born to Die and its extended Paradise Edition and stars Del Rey in the faintly allegorical role of Eve, with model Shaun Ross as her love interest.

Tropico isn’t the only film Del Rey’s involved with at the moment – she recently pledged to fund a film about lo-fi songwriter Daniel Johnston, and will receive an executive producer credit for her donation. The chanteuse has said she has no plans to record a follow-up to her 2012 smash Born To Die, saying, “I don’t really hear a next one. My muse is very fickle.” [via Pitchfork]
