jemp-11.25.2013

Known as JEMP, the Jazz and Electronic Music from Poland festival does pretty much exactly what it says on the tin.

Highlighting experimental acts from Poland, JEMP is now in its third year, and will be operating in various London venues from November 25 to December 3. This year’s programming is significantly darker than in previous years, and is offering a big nod to the world of ambient music, something that should no doubt please fans of Lustmord, Thomas Koner and Deathprod.

On Wednesday at the OTO Project Space, composer Piotr Kurek will be collaborating live with festival organizer Andie Brown and creating disarming psychedelic soundscapes, they’ll be joined by Piętnastka, itself a collaboration between Kurek and drummer Hubert Zemler.

At Cargo on December 1, experimental drum duo HAITI will be taking the stage, and will be joined by the clumsily daubed laptop expressionism of Innercity Ensemble. Closing the festival on December 3 at the ICA will be punk/noise rock outfit BNNT, who plan to bring proceedings to an explosive finale with their heady, cacophonous barrage of sound.

These performances will be bolstered by experimental film screenings and more, and if you wish to see the full programme and purchase tickets, head here.
