Massive Attack, Richie Hawtin, Four Tet and more lined up for Sónar Barcelona

The first wave of acts have been announced for next year’s Sónar in Barcelona.

Headliners at the Spanish edition of the globe-trotting festival include Bristol outfit Massive Attack, who’ll follow up the acclaimed series of audiovisual shows made with filmmaker Adam Curtis with a new performance combining music, art, technology and politics.

Electronic pioneer Richie Hawtin will perform under his Plastikman alias at Sónar By Day to unveil his new live show ‘Objekt’, as well as playing a ‘Close’ set under his own name, which is intended to “bring audiences closer to the performance” with the assistance of “highly-advanced cameras and intimate lighting”.

Also billed are big-hitters Bonobo, Four Tet, Moderat and Caribou plus leftfielders like Oneohtrix Point Never, Matmos and Majical Cloudz. See the full list of names below – more acts will be added soon.

Sónar Barcelona takes place from 12-14 June, 2014 – grab tickets here.
