It’s hard to believe that after all the blanket coverage of Daft Punk‘s Random Access Memories, the Gallic duo are still yet to perform the album live.

That’s all set to change next month however, as the duo are confirmed to appear at the 2014 Grammys on January 26. It looks as if it might be quite the event too, with the event’s executive producer Ken Ehrlich offering these tantalizing comments:

“Conversations took place over a period of a couple of months, and finally they agreed to be a part of this year’s telecast. Details of the performance are still being worked out, but the idea of having the exclusive television performance by this iconic band is something we’re very, very excited about.”

It certainly looks as if Daft Punk are actually working on a proper performance this time, which will be welcome after their disappointing showing at the VMAs this year. Despite canceling a proposed live performance on The Colbert Report, the duo actually only acted as presenters at the VMAs.

The French electronic music superstars have been nominated for four Grammys this year – Album of the Year and Best Dance/Electronica Album for Random Access Memories and Record of the Year and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for ‘Get Lucky’. [via Consequence of Sound]
