From ‘Monster’ to aliens.

Rihanna is to record a concept album for the forthcoming Dreamworks animation Home, an adaptation of a kids’ book about a gang of aliens hiding on Earth.

Dreamworks boss Jeffrey Katzenberg announced the news, saying Rihanna will write and perform music for the film, in which she stars as the teenage protagonist Gratuity ‘Tip’ Tucci.

Jennifer Lopez, Steve Martin and Jim Parson will also lend their voices to Home, which is due out in November.

After releasing an album a year for seven years on the trot, Rihanna supposedly took a year out in 2013, but still managed to release a string of singles (including the incredible ‘Pour It Up’) and another duet with Eminem, as well as taking her Unapologetic tour around the world. [via NME]
