Devo seek donations to aid family of late guitarist Bob Casale

A fund has been set up to assist the family of late Devo guitarist Bob Casale.

When Casale passed away suddenly last month aged 61, he left no will and had no health insurance, placing his family in serious financial difficulties.

“These expenses are not limited to funeral expenses,” states a message on the fundraising site,” but also include recent medical/hospital bills, and for the general family expenses in the absence of Bob. This has hit the Casales hard. We are doing everything we can as friends of the family to soften the impact of Bob’s untimely death.”

The fund has a target of $100,000 (£60,000), and has so far raised $16,915 (£10,000). Head here to donate.

Before Casales passed away, Devo were planning a 40th anniversary tour focusing on their early, experimental work. If that goes ahead, a portion of the proceeds would also go to Casale’s family, reports Rolling Stone.
