Future Islands and Thurston Moore join Field Day 2014 line-up

The Wytches and Lovepark also on the bill.

After announcing Field Day’s expansion into Europe with events coming up in Turin, Amsterdam and Paris, the East London festival has added four more names to this year’s two-dayer in Victoria Park.

Sonic Youth helmsman Thurston Moore brings his newly forged solo act to the first leg of the festival, joining the likes of Metronomy, Danny Brown and Oneohtrix Point Never on Saturday, June 7.

Baltimore’s Future Islands join the party the next day with (we hope) songs from their rather essential new album Singles, along with psychedelic surf rockers The Wytches and lo-fi Londoners Lovepark. They join Pixies, The Horrors, Temples and Pond for the guitar-focused day of the festival.

Grab tickets here and tune in to the latest Field Day Radio broadcast for a mix of tunes from some of the acts playing this year’s event, plus an interview with East India Youth.

Here’s Future Islands’ inexplicably brilliant ‘Seasons (Waiting On You)’:
