Kanye postpones Australian tour to focus on next album

Kanye West has postponed a series of Australian tour dates scheduled for May.

Roc Nation stated that the concerts have been postponed until September, reportedly due to “unexpected timing requirements” related to West finishing his next album. See the rescheduled dates below.

Here’s the full statement, which suggests the new record is due this year:

Due to unexpected timing requirements to finish his highly anticipated new studio album, scheduled for a 2014 release, Kanye West regretfully announces the postponement of his upcoming tour dates in Australia. The tour dates originally scheduled from May 2 to May 11, 2014 will now be played from September 5 to September 15, 2014. All tickets for the initially scheduled shows will be honored for the new dates. Dates and cities for the tour are listed below. Get tickets at KanyeWest.com.

The news casts doubt on Kanye’s European tour, which was revealed last week via ticketing websites but not officially announced by Kanye’s camp. A German promoter later claimed those dates had also been postponed, this time due to “production problems”.

Last month Kanye nabbed his first Vogue cover, alongside fiancee Kim Kardashian, and he recently premiered a trailer for a Yeezus live film directed by Hype Williams. [via Pitchfork]
