To Rococo Rot joined by Arto Lindsay on first album in four years, Instrument

After unveiling a brand new track on FACT last week, electronica boffins To Rococo Rot have announced their first album in four years.

The Berlin-Düsseldorf trio return to the City Slang label with Instrument, the follow-up to 2010’s Speculation and the group’s eighth album so far.

Brothers Robert and Ronald Lippok and Stefan Schneider are joined by No Wave pioneer Arto Lindsay on three of the tracks, expanding their musical vocabulary with vocals from Lindsay, as heard on brooding album opener ‘Many Descriptions’.

“We wanted to make clear that something is different,” said Robert Lippok. “I think maybe we’ve come in a way back to where we started. We’ve been through a lot of experimenting, buying new gear, trying this and that with electronic and non-electronic stuff.”

Instrument is due out on July 21, and to mark its release the group have lined up a show on the same date at London’s Café Oto.
