Classical concert season invaded by electro-pop icons.
Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe will perform A Man from the Future at the Royal Albert Hall as part of Prom 8 on July 23, which will also feature new orchestral arrangements of five Pet Shop Boys’ songs by film composer Angelo Badalamenti.
Turing played a crucial role in breaking the German Enigma code during the second world war, but was later prosecuted for his homosexuality and eventually took his own life. In recent years a public campaign has resulted in the mathematician and computer scientist receiving a posthumous pardon from the Queen.
Though some snippets from the new work have been performed before, the Prom will be the first time the work has been heard in full.
