Stream Plaid's new album Reachy Prints, forthcoming on Warp

Listen to the latest offering from the veteran duo.

Plaid have returned with another collection of chirping electronic melodies, Reachy Prints, which — from what we’ve heard — will please longtime fans of Ed Handley and Andy Turner. The album is due out on Warp next week, but you can stream it over at Clash.

“It’s escapist in the positive sense,” Turner tells Clash. “It’s fighting music. Certainly in the early days dance music had a fighting element to it; we’re fighting against our oppressors, our… landlords!” Handley adds: “And we’re just trying to be ourselves… Limiting ourselves in the right sense, and using interesting synthesis.”

Last month, the duo released an interactive web app called Tether that allows the user to manipulate a track while listening, using simple mouse clicks and gestures. For more Plaid, check out this excellent mix of classic material assembled by Ants in my Trance.
