Slugabed has taken a break from herding cats (i.e. running his bizarre and eclectic Activia Benz label) to announce his forthcoming Coolest EP, which can be purchased with a snazzy matching beach towel.

The Ninja Tune loon says the six tracks on the record see him taking “a more subtle approach, focusing on songwriting and atmosphere” while still squeezing in samples from the not-so-subtle likes of T-Pain and Roger Sanchez. “Imagine Vashti Bunyan meets Egyptian Lover for cocktails,” he adds. There’s also a Lockah remix of opening track ‘Pure El Nino Vibes’.

The Coolest EP follows an ace label compilation earlier in the year that rounded up original Activia Benz acts like Deech, Eloq and 813 alongside affiliates DJ DJ Booth, My Panda Shall Fly and more.
