Following this year’s Blank Project – her first proper solo record in 16 years – Neneh Cherry has a new single on the boil.

Blank Project standout ‘Everything’ – a propulsive 7-minute jam, carried by foghorn synths and a freewheeling vocal performance – will get the standalone single treatment on June 23. The release will feature a remix from Hyperdub regular and certified FACT favourite Cooly G, which we’ve got the first play of below. She’s certainly goosed up the original, turning it into a pointillist percussion freakout with a hint of UK funky swing.

Fans, take note: Cherry plays the Queen Elizabeth Hall tonight as part of James Lavelle’s Meltdown festival, backed by Blank Project collaborators (and fellow Kieran Hebden fam) Rocketnumbernine; head here for further information.

FACT caught up with Cherry and Rocketnumbernine earlier this year to talk Four Tet and timpani.
