Drake cancels Wireless Festival appearance this weekend; Kanye West to fill London headline slot

Drake has cancelled his headline slots at Wireless Festival in London and Birmingham this weekend.

The rapper has also called off his appearance at Roskilde Festival in Denmark under doctor’s orders, as he explained in a message shared by the festival organisers:

“To my beloved fans, it truly breaks my heart that I won’t be able to perform as planned at Wireless and Roskilde this weekend. I got sick a few days ago and although I am on my way to bouncing back, my doctors have made it clear that I am not physically fit to fly or deliver the performance my fans expect and deserve from me. I will be focused on resting for a quick recovery. I have the best fans in the world and I can’t wait to come back to make more incredible memories together.”

All three days of Wireless will go ahead as planned in both London and Birmingham, say the organisers, with Kanye West stepping in to fill Drake’s headline slot in the capital on Saturday, July 5.

In Birmingham, Rudimental will deliver an extended set on Friday, July 4, with an array of special guests. All gig goers will also receive £20 of ‘Wireless Credit’ on arrival at the site, which can be redeemed for food, drinks, merchandise and the funfair.

More small print from Live Nation: Refunds will be available from point of purchase before the event but will not be available at the event. ‘Wireless Credit’ will only be valid on July 4 in Birmingham and is subject to terms and conditions. Ticket holders who use their ticket and attend the show will not be entitled to a refund.
