Ben UFO explains how radio DJing has shaped his career in a short film by Dekmantel

One of Britain’s best DJs bigs up London radio.

Ben UFO is your guide in this short film commissioned by Amsterdam’s Dekmantel festival, as he explores the way his sideline as a radio DJ shapes what he does in the club.

Talking about the formation of Hessle Audio and his early show on Sub FM, Ben talks about how radio has informed his career from the start and his journey from dubstep through to house and techno via jungle and UK funky. There’s also a chance to snoop through some of his latest purchases, and a little cameo from his Hessle Audio pal Pearson Sound.

If your ears are pricked by any of the tracks used in the mini-doc, check out the tracklist under the video (provided via Ben’s Facebook). Catch him at Corsica Studios on July 25 for an 8-hour back-to-back set with Morphosis.

Even Tuell – Precious Cloud (Latency)
Anthony Naples – I Don’t See Them (Rubadub)
Pearson Sound – Starburst (Hessle Audio)
