Hudson Mohawke working on albums with Antony Hegarty and Foals' Yannis Philippakis

Ross Birchard details two unusual collaborations in the pipeline.

With his Chimes EP due out in a couple of weeks, Hudson Mohawke has revealed that he’s also working on new albums by Antony Hegarty and Foals frontman Yannis Philippakis.

“The album I’m producing for Anthony is really cool as fuck,” Birchard told NME. “It’s really political, very angry, taking on the NSA.” Meanwhile his collaboration with Philippakis is “coming along”. “I think it’ll be pretty special,” he said.

Foals recently announced that they plan to take a break for 18 months after headlining Bestival on the Isle of Wight last weekend. The band will regroup to work on the follow up to 2013 album ‘Holy Fire’.

Foals announced an 18-month hiatus following their headline set at Bestival last weekend, while Hegarty’s last album was 2010’s Swanlights. HudMo’s Chimes EP is due on Warp on September 29.
