Gucci Mane

Gucci Mane pleaded guilty on Monday to assaulting a fan who wanted a picture with him.

The Atlanta rapper was sentenced to three years prison in August for a string of offences including marijuana possession, disorderly conduct, carrying a concealed weapon and a firearms charge.

This week Gucci, real name Radric Davis, accepted a guilty plea for an aggravated assault charge stemming back to a March 2013 incident at the Harlem Nights nightspot, where it is alleged the ‘745’ rapper assaulted a fan with a bottle after he was approached to take a photograph. Davis was handed an additional three year sentence.

“Rather than accommodating the admiring fan, Davis, for no explicable reason, instead, hit the victim over the head with a vodka bottle and then hurriedly left the club,” Atlanta District Attorney Paul Howard said in a statement. “The victim sustained a deep laceration to his forehead which required ten stitches.”

Davis’ latest aggravated assault sentence will run concurrently with the sentence currently being served. It is unclear whether or not the rapper will receive credit for time already spent behind bars. Davis has been incarcerated since September last year after being locked up for a series of offences following a very public meltdown.

Gucci’s legal troubles have not slowed down his prolific musical output. XXL have attempted to collate the best of the Atlanta icon’s prison releases, which continue to flow despite his incarceration. The Return of Mr Perfect was released earlier this week and will be followed by third instalment of the Trap House series on 17 October.
