No, they’re not going to be releasing jackin’ house.

We heard over the summer that TV personality and ex-rapper Coolio was going to attempt to revive his ailing career by releasing a record on Pornhub, and today thanks to Billboard, all becomes clear. The notorious website have today launched their record label, and have immediately embarked on a contest to find an official Pornhub anthem. We’re guessing a cover of ‘Turning Japanese’ might be too obvious, right?

Pornhub’s head of PR Matt Blake told Billboard that he felt that the company had “always seen a strong music presence from the beginning,” saying that artists had been uploading their own R-rated versions of songs, for example. Certainly Falty DL used the site to premiere his ‘Greater Antilles Part 2’ video from earlier this year, but bizarrely it didn’t feature anything untoward.

Vice President Cory Price explained that while Coolio had achieved a large amount of interest in his masturbation anthem ‘Take it to the Hub’, the label were actually “looking for acts that aren’t necessarily porn-focused.” Note the word “necessarily” there, we’d guess that it would certainly be a help if they’re looking for pageviews. We can’t really see people visiting Pornhub to watch an experimental video of some CG shapes moving through space at high speed. Price does at least seem to understand this, admitting “we’re an ad-based network looking for content that appeals to our demographic. Mature lyrics for an adult audience; no boy bands or teen-pop, for instance.”

Budding producers can enter the search for a Pornhub anthem here, and one lucky winner will win $5,000 towards a music video to be featured on Pornhub.tv, with a minimum of 500,000 views guaranteed.
