Life After Death From Above: Canadian punk duo star in documentary featuring the Strokes, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and more

Recently reunited rockers Death From Above 1979 are the subject of a forthcoming documentary film.

Entitled Life After Death From Above, the film focuses on the turmoil that followed the band following the release of their debut album You’re A Woman, I’m A Machine in 2004. Death From Above members Jesse Keeler and Sebastien Grainger split in an acrimonious fashion after two years of touring their debut LP, citing personal problems. The duo reunited in 2011 after not speaking to each other in over five years, their comeback culminating in a headline performance at Coachella festival. Grainger and Keeler also revealed that they are working on a second album, described as “Springsteen meets Sonic Youth”.

Directed by Eva Michon, Life After Death From Above chronicles the fast rise of the Canadian punk pairing, their quick demise and eventual reunion. The film features cameos from members of the Strokes, the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and more. Life After Death From Above is released on 7 October via Vimeo on Demand, watch the trailer below.
