Metalheadz boss gifts the London producer with a browse through his archives.

Jim Coles has been on a roll over the past year or so, connecting the dots between jungle and footwork on a handful of innovative records both as Om Unit and under his Phillip D. Kick pseudonym.

Next up for the London producer is an eight-track EP on Metalheadz, which sees him digging into label boss Goldie’s sample archive to add some original flavours to his dish. “The project is really for me a nod to sound of my teenage self,” he says of the EP, which also features rapper Jehst on ‘The War’. “Goldie gave me access to some DATs out of his studio as well as some other sample collections from his archive, which I gladly used as salt ‘n pepper to spice up the work.”

Inversion arrives on November 17. In the meantime, Coles is touring the US and Canada for the rest of this month.
