Virtual pop star Hatsune Miku performs on <em>Late Show with David Letterman</em>

Hatsune Miku — a humanoid-synthesizer-pop singer straight out of William Gibson’s Bridge trilogy — is having a bit of a moment, opening for Lady Gaga, getting remixed by Pharrell and serving as inspiration for the virtual reality pop acts of PC Music.

Taking the next logical step in any press campaign, Hatsune Miku and her band performed ‘Sharing the World’ on Late Show with David Letterman — not exactly the home of avant-garde musical appearances. Watch the video below — it’s worth it for Dave’s bemusement, alone.
