Techno veteran Function announces career-spanning retrospective of classics and rarities

Function has revealed details of a career-spanning retrospective due early next year.

Recompiled: Various Works & Pseudonyms 1995-2012 collects 28 classic and rare tracks from Dave Sumner’s deep back catalogue, as RA reports.

The two-disc compilation will be preceded by a run of three 12″s from the Brooklyn-born producer and DJ, which began with the already released VEX/DMO and continues this week with Synewave Reissues Part I: 1995-97, a collection of tracks from two EPs (F(Q): Function of Bandwidth and F(C): Function Of A Constant) with the material edited by Sumner’s label partner Ed Davenport.

Finally, Recompiled | Extractions will appear on November 17 containing early Infrastructure releases ‘Isolate’ and ‘Montage’, a previously unreleased version of ‘Immolare’ from Sumner’s Sandwell District alias, and ‘Descending’ from 2011.

Function recently released a full-length ambient collaboration with Vatican Shadow under the title Games Have Rules, which we strongly recommend.
