Bad Taste celebrates fifth anniversary with compilations; hear Timbah's grime re-fix of the Seven Samurai theme

The Sheffield-based imprint celebrates five years of eclecticism.

Bad Taste Records was set up in 2009 by Darkstorm and Trellion as an extension of the pair’s tastes in electronic music and hip-hop. Both styles — rap-inspired beats and bass-led electronics — will be featured on two pay-as-you-want compilations that the label is releasing to mark their fifth anniversary.

Both comps are loaded with new exclusives (along with a few choice past releases); Volume 2 focuses on the dance and features Walter Ego, Tony Quattro, Itoa’s bootleg of Tweet’s ‘Oops’ and more. The 9-track set is closed with quite a banger: Timbah’s grime refix of Fumio Hayasaka’s classic Seven Samurai.

Download Timbah’s offering below. Volume 1 is out now and Volume 2 is due out tomorrow (November 20) via the Bad Taste Bandcamp page. Update: Download Volume 2 now.
