Run The Jewels' trailer catches fire, forces them to cancel Montreal show

The duo have endured a disastrous few days.

Run the Jewels’ El-P has announced that a tour bus breakdown and a fire in the group’s merchandise trailer took place overnight, forcing the pair to postpone their concert in Montreal. El-P reported that the group were on their way from Detroit to Toronto when the incident occurred.

Run The Jewels have been forced to postpone tomorrow’s (November 27) performance in Montreal, with El-P tweeting “we will work hard to reschedule a Montreal show for as soon as we can.” Run The Jewels’ performance in Toronto this evening is scheduled to go ahead as planned, with El-P and Killer Mike flying to the city instead.

It’s been a difficult week for the duo – the pair reported troubles with their touring van earlier in the week, which almost forced them to cancel Monday’s show in St. Louis. Run The Jewels eventually made it to the venue, with Killer Mike delivering a heartfelt speech concerning the Ferguson grand jury’s decision.

Both El-P and Killer Mike shared footage of the flaming wreck on Instagram, which you can see here and here. [via Exclaim]
