The Sub Pop duo get crunched out of shape on AnCo’s barmy remix.

‘#CAKE’ is a highlight from Shabazz Palaces deeply strange, deeply excellent second album Lese Majesty (we like to think of it as a perfectly pitched Jay Z diss track), so who better to extract and enhance its mysterious properties than two of America’s premier weirdo art punks?

Animal Collective’s Avey Tare and Deakin have added their own vocals to the their ‘Premature Deflirt Mix’, which has been squashed, mirrored and multiplied in a way that brings it closer in style to the hyperactive tracks on AnCo’s 2012 album Centipede Hz.
