Future Brown make a fake beauty commercial for new track 'Vernáculo'

Warm tones and capitalist surrealism.

Warp’s underground supergroup Future Brown have appropriated the glossy advertising language of cosmetics brands in a video for their new track ‘Vernáculo’, featuring Maluca.

The slick clip was commissioned by Pérez Art Museum Miami, who describe it as “an exercise in capitalist surrealism” – you’ll have to head to their website to watch it. It was unveiled Art Basel last week as part of a Future Brown show featuring Fade To Mind singer Kelela.

‘Vernáculo’ is taken from the group’s debut album, which sees the team of Fatima Al Qadiri, J-Cush and Nguzunguzu collaborate with Chicago upstart Tink, bop stars Sicko Mobb and grime vets Riko Dan, Roachee, Prince Rapid and Dirty Danger, among many more. It’s due on February 24. Check out previous single ‘Talkin Bandz’, featuring Shawnna and DJ Victoriouz. [via RA]
