PJ Harvey will record her ninth album as a live exhibition at Somerset House

PJ Harvey will record her ninth album as an exhibition at Somerset House.

From January 16, visitors can watch Harvey, plus her team of session musicians, producers and the like, recording the album in 45 minute slots. As Harvey’s Facebook explains, this could entail “anything from laying down a bass drum track, to discussions, improvisation, through to full performances of new songs.”

Visitors will be watching through one-way glass, so that the musicians can focus on their work, but “>the space and the people who move through it will help to create both the process and presentation of this project.”

Tickets are available here. Slots take places at 3pm and 6pm from Tuesday to Friday, and on Saturdays at 1pm and 3pm.

Harvey’s last album was 2011’s acclaimed Let England Shake.
