Giorgio Moroder is working on Lady Gaga's new album

Gaga continues her penchant for pensioners.

She’s barely let the eyelash glue dry on her album collaboration with crooner Tony Bennett, but Lady Gaga is back in the studio to work on her follow-up to 2013’s disappointing ARTPOP.

This time round she’s enlisted the help of another showbiz veteran, as disco legend Giorgio Moroder has revealed in an interview with Popjustice.

“I was supposed to be in the studio with [Gaga] a week ago, but I got a cold,” the super-producer said. “I’ll see her when I’m back. I have about five or six tracks, just basic ideas. Drums, keyboard, bass. I’m going to be surprised, I think – I don’t have a clue about the way she’s recording. Will she play the piano? Will I?”

He added: “I met her about two years ago. She loved me – the usual! And I did a remix for her last year – I did two versions and she took the more traditional of the two.”

Asked who the session were intended for, he said: “This is for her new album – that’s the intention. I was hoping that maybe I can convince her to have one of the songs for my album. If I could convince her, well that would be incredible.”

Popjustice also grilled him on what the best BPM is: “Right now, 128. I love it.”

Moroder is currently promoting his first solo album in over 30 years, which features Britney, Sia, Charli XCX and, on new single ‘Right Here Right Now’, Kylie Minogue.

Last year Gaga blew our minds a bit when she enlisted quiet techno rogue Surgeon to support her on the #ARTRAVE tour.
