Coyote to release vinyl edition of Last Japan's 'Harca': stream Tom E Vercetti's remix

Rising grime label Coyote continue their white label series with a vinyl pressing of Last Japan‘s ‘Harca’.

The London producer – who went Against the Clock on FACT TV this week – featured ‘Harca’ (with a Rapid vocal) on last year’s cassette / digital mixtape Ride With Us, and Coyote enjoyed the track so much they’ve decided to grant it a release on wax. Remixes come from Cult Music affiliate Forever Forever and new Coyote recruit Tom E Vercetti.

Speaking to FACT, Vercetti says that “‘Harca’ was the standout track from Ride With Us, so I was really pleased to be asked to remix it. It’s a really colourful track so I wanted to retain that feeling while adding my own twist to it. I wanted to take a melodic approach and tried to expand on some of the melodies in the original, rather than stripping it back too much.”

“Having written and released ‘Harca’ in the first half of 2014”, says Last Japan. “It has probably been one of the only tracks of mine that I’ve consistently played in every set since. Only releasing it digitally meant the record, to me, felt like it had lost some of its tangibility, so when Coyote approached me to release it as a white label, it was a no brainer. The remixes compliment the original perfectly as two great interpretations of the track – I couldn’t be happier with the record to be honest.”

‘Harca’ / Remixes will be released on March 9. Stream Tom E Vercetti’s take below.
