Want to explore the possibilities of modular synthesis without shelling out thousands of pounds on a modular synthesiser?

OSCiLLOT, a new product by Max for Cats for Ableton Live, aims to bring modular synthesis to the popular music-making software, allowing users to tinker with over 100 soft modules – such as oscillators, filters and amplifiers – to create custom synth patches.

As Resident Advisor report, there are also 79 preset patches that come with the set, and those who want to dive even deeper into the possibilities can edit the different modules in Max/MSP, or connect OSCiLLOT’s patches to a hardware setup. Unlike most modular synthesisers, OSCiLLOT is polyphonic.
