And the winner is…

The 57th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony took place last night in Los Angeles.

Notable winners include Aphex Twin, who took the category of Best Dance/Electronic Album for Syro ahead of Little Dragon, deadmau5, Matt Zo and Royksopp & Robyn, and Brit newcomers Clean Bandit and Jess Glynne, who won Best Dance Recording for ‘Rather Be’, beating Disclosure and Mary J. Blige’s ‘F For You’.

Another Brit newcomer, Sam Smith, cleaned up at the ceremony, going home with four awards including Song Of The Year for ‘Stay With Me’.

Beyonce and Jay-Z won Best R&B Song for ‘Drunk In Love’, while Kanye West nearly provided a cringeworthy repeat of his famous Taylor Swift “Imma let you finish” interruption when Beck took Album Of The Year for Morning Phase by storming the stage before turning back at the last moment. He later told journalists that Beck’s win was “disrespectful” to “real artists” like Beyonce.

Astonishingly, Best Rap Album went to Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP II, an album that bowled us over with its sheer awfulness when we first heard it.
