The super-producer has inked a deal to adapt his inescapable hit single for the page.

As if he didn’t have his hands full writing hits, winning Grammies, running a fashion label, maintaining a wardrobe full of outlandish headgear and, you know, saving the world, Pharrell Williams has turned his attention to children’s books.

The singer-songwriter is to publish a series of four picture books following a deal with Putnam Books for Young Readers. The first one is inspired by ‘Happy’ and will feature photographs of children from around the world “celebrating what it means to be happy”. Due to be published this September, the book will have an initial print run of 250,000 copies.

Earlier this month we learned that the residents of Springfield are just as fed up of ‘Happy’ as the rest of us. [via Billboard]
