The instrumental grime night has unveiled plans for its second anniversary.

Boxed was launched in March 2013 with the aim of providing a home for a crop of instrumental grime producers who were, at the time, unable to get their music supported in clubs.

Two years later, Boxed is home to some of the most exciting producers of electronic music. Three of the night’s four residents – Mr. Mitch, Logos and Slackk – have released vaunted debut albums in that time, while fourth resident Oil Gang has released records from fast-rising MC Novelist, Murlo, JT the Goon and more.

For their second birthday celebration, Boxed will be taking over Bloc’s Autumn Street Studios in Hackney Wick. Slew Dem stalwart Spooky will headline the night, joined by all four Boxed residents. Local Action’s Finn and Square DJ Grandmixxer are also scheduled to perform, as are some unknown special guests.

Boxed’s second birthday will be held on Friday, March 20. Tickets are available via Resident Advisor.
