A welcome second dose of edge-of-yer-seat rhythms from the rising talent.

DJ Nigga Fox has announced his next record on Príncipe, the Lisbon label at the vanguard of the city’s new sound blending African sounds like kuduro, batida, kizomba, funaná and tarrachinha with the hard electronics of house and techno.

The Angolan-born protege of de facto scene leader DJ Marfox will follow up 2013’s O Meu Estilo EP with Noite e Dia, four tracks of “contortionist twists and turns” and “bleepy weirdness driven by martial snares”, as the label notes.

The EP will be available digitally and on individually hand-painted, hand-stamped vinyl, with artwork by Márcio Matos, on March 24.

Listen to ‘Um Ano’ below and find out more about the fertile Lisbon scene that spawned Nigga Fox in Robert Barry’s 2013 investigation.

Tracklist:

A1 Um Ano
