Get the first glimpse at the inside of Korg’s ARP Odyssey reboot.

Earlier this year, Korg announced its plan to redesign ARP’s legendary Odyssey synth, a machine that did did no less than shape modern music. Korg’s Odyssey reboot was designed with former ARP boss David Friend as chief advisor.

The new ARP Odyssey is slightly smaller than the original and comes with its own semi-hardshell case and patch cables. While Korg has promised a faithful reproduction of the original circuitry, it has also updated the synth for the 21st century by adding USB and MIDI connections.

The video below gives the first glimpse inside the revamped machine, taking a look at the electronics driving the synth engine, the panel connection and the keyboard.

Korg’s ARP Odyssey will begin shipping on March 18 for those that have pre-ordered the synthesizer. [via Synthtopia]
