Annual Australian festival has unveiled its 2015 programme.

The first lineup details for this year’s edition of Vivid Sydney have arrived. The 18-day winter festival is set to run from May 22 to June 8 this year, lighting up the harbour city with a vibrant display of colour and music. The iconic Sydney Opera House, where many of the events will take place, is lit up each year with striking visuals. Last month, festival organisers announced Morrissey as this year’s headline act and today the full programme has been unveiled.

Squarepusher will play his only Australian show at the Opera House’s Joan Sutherland Theatre on the festival’s opening night. Red Bull Music Academy will host Onra on the same evening at the Opera House Studio. As usual, the Studio will host a number of dance gigs throughout the festival. Mad Racket will host Matthew Herbert on May 23, Goodgod and The House of Mince will present a night of ballroom and vogue music on May 29 and Sydney promoters Astral People will host Robert Owens and Amir Alexander on May 30. Future Classic will celebrate their tenth anniversary with two parties on the House’s outdoor northern peninsula on May 29 and 30.

The Modular Recordings imprint will take over the Carriageworks in Redfern for a series of shows, including a collaboration between Sydney promoters Motorik, Club Kooky and Pelvis on June 7 featuring Trevor Jackson and Daniel Wang. Bill Drummond, co-founder of The KLF, will host a discussion about his 12-year world art tour on June 6.
