The sticking point: the involvement of former manager Mathew Knowles.

Last weekend, Destiny’s Child reunited for a performance at the Stellar Gospel Awards in Las Vegas. It was the first time Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams performed together since the 2013 Super Bowl.

As always, rumors of a more substantial reunion have surfaced. The Daily Mail reports that the trio want to do a reunion tour and reunion album, but won’t be using the Destiny’s Child name, in an effort to avoid working with Mathew Knowles.

Knowles, Beyoncé’s father and the group’s former manager, owns one-fourth of the group, but each member has severed professional ties with him. Beyoncé cut ties with her father in 2011 after accusations that he stole money surfaced.

According to the Mail’s sources, the group “can’t figure out how to nix Mathew from the deal. They all want more than anything to give the fans one last run of the group, especially since they all have their own individual success, but don’t want to deal with Mathew.”
