Which incarnation of the band, though?

Horror experts Death Waltz just tweeted that “there’s a brand new Goblin album due,” and that their partners at Mondo will have an exclusive purple vinyl variant limited to 500 copies.

While details are promised next week, it is unclear which incarnation of the soundtrack-crafting prog rockers is responsible for this new album. There’s founder Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin, Massimo Morante’s New Goblin, and Goblin Rebirth.

Massimo Morante, Maurizio Guarini, Fabio Pignatelli and Agostino Marangolo are currently billed as Goblin (check out the official Goblin site) and recently crowdfunded an album titled Four Of A Kind, raising 114% of their goal. However, the last time Death Waltz worked on a Goblin release, the band featured Simonetti.
