The three-day event takes place at the Berlin institution in August. 

Berghain will play host to a brand new festival called Pop-Kultur this summer, which celebrates pop culture and music across three days of events and performances.

The festival aims to create a space that brings together artists with figures from the world of sociology and the sciences to explore pop culture in unlikely ways, with Mute Records founder Daniel Miller, Everything But The Girl’s Tracey Thorn and Matthew Herbert among those taking part in a series of talks.

The festival also features a strong line-up of musicians from the world of electronic music and beyond, with artists including Pantha Du Prince, Neneh Cherry, Lapalux, Inga Copeland, Mssingno, Erased Tapes artist Rival Consoles and James Pants all scheduled to appear.

The festival is run by Berlin’s Music Board, a government-funded organisation that seeks to promote popular music in imaginative ways, and takes place across the different nooks and crannies of the Berghain site on August 26-28. More information can be found at the Music Board website. [via RA]
