Final Glastonbury headliner will “most likely” be two British artists

Update, April 24: Emily Eavis has clarified her dad’s hints.

Rumours, horrible rumours, have been swirling about the Sunday night headline slot being given to a “charity supergroup” led by Coldplay’s Chris Martin.

Responding to a fan who asked about it, the younger Eavis tweeted: “Don’t get confused by the two bands together story! We are announcing one band as headliner but a great penultimate too”.

Festival boss Michael Eavis dropped the hint last night.

The final Glastonbury headliner will consist of two artists who will “most likely” be British according to Eavis, who delivered the news after giving a talk at the V&A in London. The mystery duo will be revealed on June 1.

The Guardian speculates that Noel Gallagher could be worth a flutter, as he’d previously said he would be willing to appear second on the bill if someone he considered legendary was headlining. We’re holding out for Chas and Dave.

Foo Fighters and Kanye West will headline Friday and Saturday nights respectively, while Mary J Blige, Pharrell and George Clinton are also on the 2015 line-up. Last week a woman was convicted of making thousands of pounds from fake Glastonbury tickets.
