People watch Game Of Thrones for many reasons – Tyrion Lannister’s sharp dialogue, the gratuitous nudity, extreme violence, the CGI dragons and ice zombies – but you probably couldn’t claim historical accuracy was top of that list.

Not Snoop Dogg – in a recent interview with the New York Post where he discusses his appearance on the recent Game Of Thrones mixtape, Catch The Throne II, he explained that he watches the fantasy show “for historic reasons”.

“When they asked me to do the track, I was more than honored because I’m truly a fan of the show,” he explained. “I would have done it for free, but they gave me some money on top of it, so I was like, ‘F–k it, let’s do it!’ I watch it for historic reasons, to try to understand what this world was based on before I got here. I like to know how we got from there, to here, and the similarities between then and now.”

When asked by the interviewer to clarify what parallels he’d drawn between the fictional TV show and the real world, Snoop replied: “That kings still rule and a bitch f–ked everything up, in every situation!”
