Just like acid house, the unofficial boot of rave is still going strong.

Acid may have started in the late 80s/early 90s, but the squelch of the 303 still continues to resonate with ravers worldwide: just ask Seth Troxler, who recently celebrated the style at London’s Tobacco Dock, or the likes of Stellar Om Source, who continues to release acid house records that are relevant, rather than throwback.

Palladium boots were a big part of acid’s make-up: the footwear of choice for ravers, you’d find their imprint (literally and figuratively) in the Hacienda and fields alike, and like acid, they’re still going. Founded in 1920 to make tires for the aviation industry, the company’s leather standards were such that they soon turned their attention to boots, launching the legendary Pampa boot in 1947, and focusing on the same functionality, comfort and durability that defined their tires.

Recently, Palladium has launched the likes of the Macaron Collection, a range of boots modelled after the most popular flavours of the macaron, and more. To check out Palladium’s latest looks, head here, and scroll down for images from a recent rave-inspired look book.
