John Lydon’s best band have recorded another album.

After breaking a two-decade silence with 2012’s This is PiL, Public Image Ltd. have announced their tenth studio album.

The post-punk outfit will release What The World Needs Now… on September 4. The album was recorded at Steve Winwood’s Wincraft studio in the Cotswolds and was funded by the band themselves, as NME reports. In a press release, Lydon stated only: “Buy now while stocks last.”

The first single, ‘Double Trouble’, will be out as a 10″ on August 21, and the group will head out on tour from September 21 – check out the dates below.

Meanwhile they’ve been compiling archive material for a planned documentary abut the band’s turbulent history.
