Matthew Herbert releases a new full-length titled The Shakes next week, and it’s his first under his concise HERBERT guise since 2006.

After spending most of the past decade squeezin music out of pig’s innards and falling bombs, the new album is described as his attempt to “seduce the listener back to the dancefloor”. This time he’s sampled protest marches on ‘Strong’, a piano from Wormwood Scrubs prison on ‘Smart’ and the sound of bullets bought from eBay on ‘Safety’.

Stream the whole thing over at the Guardian ahead of its release on June 1 and read our 2013 interview with the agenda-setting producer.
