GZA pens editorial about “the lost art of lyricism” in hip-hop

Wu-Tang Clan original GZA has joined post-anything platform Medium to share his thoughts about the past, present and future of rap, with special attention to what he considers the “lost art of lyricism.”

“I’m sure there are great lyricists out there today,” he writes, “but when you look at mainstream hip-hop, lyricism is gone.”

Read the full post over at Medium. He lost us when he said that not hearing the words “MC” and “lyrical” in rap disappointed him, or when he complimented Nas on his “good sentence structure.” Respect to GZA, but we have to agree with Noz on this one:
