Though he’s made plenty of pitch black techno as half of the Italian duo Dadub, Daniele Antezza widens his scope even more as a solo artist. His self-titled debut as Inner8 covers a lot of ground over its 60+ minute run time morphing the dance floor as he goes. At times it’s as if he’s creating a blurry incense-filled monastery with his murky slow motion pulse, other times he heads straight into the dark techno abattoir he’s proven so good at navigating. It allows him to cover a lot of ground on Inner8 and his style is distinct enough that snowy ambient pieces like ‘Disambient’ and the opening ‘Eudaemonia’ can fit right in with heavy workouts like ‘Praxis’ and ‘Daimon Anthem’.
