It’s going to be 24/7 Guetta for a month.

Some important information before you buy tickets for next’s year’s Euro 2016 football tournament in France – David Guetta has been picked by UEFA to provide the soundtrack for the whole thing.

Guetta’s role involves everything from writing Euro 2016’s official song to creating the in-stadia audio. In case you thought you could escape by watching the tournament at home, he’s also responsible for the music accompanying the global broadcast sequences, and will perform at the opening ceremony. In short, his music will be inescapable next June.

“We wanted to work with David Guetta because he has proven throughout his career that he can create music which inspires people all around the world,” said UEFA President Michel Platini, seemingly unaware that Daft Punk might have been a better option. “David’s music has great energy so we look forward to seeing and hearing him add to the spirit and atmosphere of the tournament.”

“It is incredibly exciting … to be part of this huge football tournament in my home country,” said Guetta. “Music and football go hand in hand when it comes to celebration and enjoyment and I want to help to make this Euro the biggest and most memorable yet. We want the fans to be at the very heart of everything that we do.”

Guetta will also be playing a free concert at the Champ Mars in Paris on the eve of the tournament, June 9. Who knows, maybe he’ll have to DJ from USBs without a playlist again?
