The long-awaited drum machine documentary will be screened on August 8 at 8:08pm.

Arthur Baker, the producer behind Afrika Bambaataa’s ‘Planet Rock’, will finally bring his documentary about Roland’s iconic TR-808 drum machine to London with a premiere on at BFI Southbank. Andrew Weatherall and Andy Lewis will be providing the tunes on the night with DJ sets at the venue’s Benugo bar.

The documentary features a host of artists who’ve explored the 808 over the years, from hip-hop pioneers Bambaataa, Rick Rubin, and Hank Shocklee to dance progenitors Goldie, A Guy Called Gerald, and Todd Terry, and from indie kings Damon Albarn and Talking Heads’ Chris Frantz to pop hit-makers Diplo, Pharrell Williams, Lil Jon and David Guetta.
