Author Chuck Palahniuk is also involved.

In recent years Trent Reznor and director David Fincher have had great success in scoring Hollywood films, including The Social Network, which won Best Original Score at the 2010 Academy Awards, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, which received a 2011 Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Score, and most recently, 2014’s Gone Girl, which picked up nods at both the Grammys and Golden Globes.

The duo have now teamed up for a project of a different kind. Reznor will be working with David Fincher to bring his 1999 film Fight Club to Broadway. Chuck Palahniuk, author of the book on which the film was based, is also involved.

According to a tweet by Jeff Goldsmith of The Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith, Reznor’s involvement in the musical rock opera adaptation was initially revealed by Palahniuk during a Fight Club panel at last weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con.

The project has been in the works since last year. Director of the Lion King stage show Julie Taymor is also reportedly working on the adaptation. [via CoS]
